Kerygma Bible Study
Since 2009 Trinity Cathedral has been pleased to offer a spiritual enrichment opportunity designed to help people read and understand the Bible. The name of the program is Kerygma. Kerygma is a Greek word that means “proclamation”. In the New Testament it is one of the words translated as “gospel.” The Kerygma program encourages a different kind of approach to the study of the Bible that puts scripture into historical perspective and demystifies some of the more puzzling passages while finding connections to God’s Church today. Our goal is always to strengthen, enrich, enliven and inform our faithful living today.
The format of our 90 minute meeting is usually an open discussion and group exercises based on some personal study and preparation conducted before the session. We each have a Resource Book to guide us in our study. We come together in a friendly, welcoming and joyful atmosphere to hear how God’s Word is touching each of our lives.
This year, (2015/16), we have are attempting to study the entire Old Testament! Please consider joining our group on alternate Sundays in the Guild Room at 12:30 pm through the program year. It’s never too late to join, - all are welcome at any time.
